J.R. Rain and Piers Anthony release "Aladdin Sins Bad," second in their Aladdin Series

August 27, 2011

I'm not much into writing blogs...so I decided that I would post my monthly newsletters/book announcements here instead. (These are the updates that I send to those who sign up for my newsletter...if you want to join, just click "Contact" and you will receive an email from me generally 1-3 days before a new book is released.)

Howdy folks!

J.R. Rain here to announce the publication of my latest novel, Aladdin Sins Bad, written with the peerless, Piers Anthony. This is the sequel to our Aladdin Relighted, a series which finds Aladdin in his later years as King of Agrabah. As you might have guessed by the title, this adventure teams Aladdin up with Sinbad the Sailor, and together they’re on an epic quest to locate enough treasure to ransom Sinbad’s kidnapped wife. They soon run afoul with all sorts of mischief, from zombies to Sirens, to evil djinns and demons...all while uncovering a dastardly plot to overtake Aladdin’s kingdom. Aladdin Sins Bad is currently available at Kindle and Nook. It will be available at Sony, Kobo, Apple and Diesel in about two weeks. Click below for some handy links:

CURRENTLY WORKING ON:

  • Bad Blood (Night School #1) with Scott Nicholson and H.T. Night. This is the first in a “light” vampire series, featuring novella-length stories. The three of us are having fun with this one. If I was a betting man (and I’m not), I would bet this will be out at the end of August.

  • Hail Mary (Jim Knighthorse #3). This one should be out sometime in October. Knighthorse is on the trail of his mother’s killer. There will be blood.

  • The Silent Echo. I’m 24 pages into this one and hope to be done with it by the end of the month. What’s it about? Well, I’ve written about those who can’t die (my vampire novels). I’ve written about those who are already dead (The Body Departed). Now I’m writing about someone who is on the brink of death. Private investigator Daniel Webb was given six months to live eight months ago. On borrowed time, he takes on one final, heart-breaking case.

  • Daughters of Eve with Scott Nicholson. We’re about 200 pages into this one. This is a grand adventure in the the tradition of Indiana Jones (and along the lines of my The Lost Ark). With luck, this will be done by the end of the year.

  • Vampire Blues: Four Stories (Samantha Moon Case Files #1). A short story collection that features a shorter case by Samantha Moon. With some luck, this will be out in a few weeks.

So, as you can see, I’m taking it easy at this time of year. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy Aladdin’s latest adventure. Piers and I had a blast writing it, and once again, I was blown away by the man’s unequaled imagination. We do have loose plans for a third book in the series, but we’ll see what the future holds.

Have a great rest of the week!
